About this event

**2/19 UPDATE: All competitor slots have been filled. Please register as an audience member!**

Adobe’s coming to UC Berkeley to put on a Creative Jam on Tuesday, February 25. It’s a giant-sized event that’s equal parts inspiration, collaboration, and competition—a truly unique experience just for UC Berkeley students, brought to you in partnership with the Academic Innovation Studio, the Creative Lab, and the Student Technology Fund! All experience levels are welcome, from experts to people who’ve never worked with Adobe tools before. We want you there!

REGISTRATION

There are two ways to register:

  1. As a competitor. You’ll get a crash course in Adobe XD, and put your skills and imagination to work as part of a team of students from across the school. Together, you’ll create a unique digital app that helps your community, then present it to a room of industry pros, students, and a panel of design and tech industry experts who’ll critique the submissions and select a winning team. Competitors arrive at 4:00 pm in the Pauley Ballroom in the ASUC Student Union, and dinner will be served.
  2. As an audience member. Don’t want to compete? No problem—hang out, make new friends, and get inspired by our special guest speakers Michelle Rial, author of Am I Overthinking This?, and Emiliana Simon-Thomas from Greater Good Science Center. You’ll hear each competitor team present their work and vote to pick a winning team. Audience members arrive at 8:00 pm in the Pauley Ballroom in the ASUC Student Union.

Competitor slots are limited to 100, and they’ll fill up fast. Competitors will need to attend the Adobe XD training part of the Jam starting at 4:15 pm, so arriving before that is very important. Be prepared to bring your laptop with Adobe XD already installed; check the system requirements needed to run it to ensure your laptop is compatible. If you want to check out Adobe XD in advance, you can access it here!

Competitor registration ends on February 21, so act fast! Please register using your UC Berkeley email, as this event is only for current students.

PRIZES

Members of finalist teams will receive a copy of Michelle Rial’s hugely popular book, Am I Overthinking This?. And two finalist teams have the chance to win one of two prizes:

  1. The Judges Award, voted upon by a panel of industry professionals, comes with a $200 Visa gift card and once-in-a-lifetime seats in Adobe’s private box at the Post Malone show at the Chase Center on March 19. We’ll throw in food and drinks at the show too.
  2. The Audience Award, voted upon by the full audience, comes with a big bag of limited-edition Adobe swag, including a super-limited-edition Creative Jam backpack, and a one-year personal license to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite of tools (a $600 value!) redeemable anytime in the next six months.

And we’ll bring some cool Adobe swag for every competitor.

THE FINE PRINT

  • If you have any questions about registration, please contact Mike Joosse, your Creative Jam producer, at joosse@adobe.com.
  • If you register for the Jam, you must download Adobe Creative Cloud to your laptop before attending the Jam. Find instructions to download it to your personal laptop or a shared device, as well as system requirements for Creative Cloud, at https://software.berkeley.edu/adobe-creative-cloud.
  • Each person can only register for one ticket, once. You will not be able to register for both a Competitor ticket and an Audience Member ticket. Each person must register themselves; ordering multiple tickets in one ticket type is not permitted.
  • Registration is limited to currently-enrolled UC Berkeley students, so please provide your campus email address when you register. Faculty/staff and alumni who have berkeley.edu emails are not eligible to attend, and UC Extension students don’t have access to Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Your responses and information are securely collected and stored by Adobe’s registration provider, Eventbrite, in accordance with Adobe’s Privacy Policy.
  • Judges Award winners will be responsible for their own transportation to the Chase Center on March 19 to claim their seat.
  • Read the official Creative Jam rules here.
